ALFA-A ORIGINAL is the highly digestible fibre feed for working horses and ponies - providing approximately 10MJ/kg of slow-release energy. On a kg for kg basis, ALFA-A ORIGINAL provides the same energy levels as a pasture or cool mix/cube.
ALFA-A ORIGINAL is made from pure alfalfa which has been chopped and dried at a very high temperature to lock in the natural goodness and ensure the very best quality product for your horse or pony. Alfalfa is an excellent natural source of antioxidants.
How To Get The Most Out Of Feeding With Dengie Alfa-A Original
Alfa-A Original can be fed on its own or it can be combined with cubes or a mix, like Dengie Fibremix, for those horses with a higher energy requirement. How Hard Are You Working Your Horse?
The amount and kind of work your horse or pony is doing is an important factor when calculating the quantity and type of feed to give. Almost all the energy requirements of most horses and ponies in light to medium work can be met by feeding a wholly fibre based diet such as Alfa-A Original. If your horse is in medium to hard work, try to feed a fibre feed as the basis of the diet and use cereal based products to supplement energy requirements. Fibre is vital for the healthy function of the horse's gut. Try not to overfeed cereal based products at the expense of fibre.
